I'm thirty-four years old. I am currently studying physical therapy at IU Southeast University. I am an ACE certified personal trainer and have been helping people reach their goals for several years. I started boxing about thirteen years ago as a way to get into shape. I quickly found that I was good at it and started fighting on an amateur level under local boxing coach Abdual Jarvis. I have fought and won in the golden gloves circuit, as well as numerous other associations. Six years ago I started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as Judo and made a transition to MMA fighting. I presently hold rank under Craig Pumphrey who I fight for with "Eclectic Mixed Martial Arts."

As a personal trainer it is my passion to help others reach their goals. I rely heavily on a wealth of knowledge I have acquired over the years training with world renowned coaches as well as coaching others. My workouts tend to be high paced and energetic. I like to incorporate boxing, kickboxing, plyometrics, as well as strength training into my workouts to solidify a healthy lifestyle that will extend a useful and active lifestyle. I am very empathetic toward others in their quest to reach personal goals. It quickly becomes my ambition to encourage each of my clients to reach their full potential and see dramatic results regardless of what their objectives may be. With a keen grasp of anatomy and nutrition from studying physical therapy, I tend to put emphasis on proper technique as well as rehabilitation of old injuries, and further preventing future injuries. I utilize massage and PT into all of my workouts which allows me to see potential injuries before they develop and cause problems. I look forward to helping you accomplish your physical goals.

I developed a passion for health and fitness at a young age due to the
influence of my parents. My mother was a U.S. Army Drill Sergeant and a
Master Fitness Trainer while my father was a pastor and an avid weight
lifter. I also credit my upbringing for my strong beliefs in discipline and
integrity.

While In high school I played Varsity soccer, basketball, and cross country.
After high school I joined the Army and attended the University of
Louisville. Through the Army I developed a sense of mental toughness and was trained to lead large group workouts. I was soon selected to attend the U.S. Army Airborne School and became a Paratrooper. On multiple military assignments I was placed in charge of the remedial physical training program for those soldiers that were unable to meet the Army’s weight and physical fitness standards. While at U of L, I started researching on health and fitness regularly in order to meet my own personal goals and to assist friends, family members, and acquaintances in meeting theirs.

After establishing a reputation for health and fitness in the Military
Science department at U of L, I was offered a position to return as an
instructor shortly after graduating. While instructing, I led physical
training for incoming freshmen not only at U of L, but at Bellarmine
University and Indiana University South East as well. I met Ryan Schrink
while I was in college and he mentored me on and off for multiple years.

After receiving my personal training certification through the NFPT, I began
working for Schrink Personal Training LLC. There is nothing I would rather
be doing than helping people reach their personal health and fitness goals.

I have been active my entire life, I believe that remaining active is the key to staying young and healthy.  As a child I played every sport that I could, when I wasn’t playing a sport I could be found in the woods on my bike or climbing in trees.  In high school I played baseball and soccer and I went on to play baseball at Florida Tech University.  When my competitive playing days were over I needed new ways to stay active.  I enjoy a wide range of activities such mountain biking, weight lifting, crossfit, and playing with my two little boys.

As I entered my 30’s more and more of my friends were becoming sedentary due to the daily grind of work and raising a family.  Many of them began to ask me how they could incorporate fitness into their daily lives.  I began designing workout and nutritional programs for them.  I quickly learned that this was my passion.  I sold my business and went back to school.  I am currently a senior at the University of Louisville where I will soon have my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology.

While pursuing my degree I have learned the “science” of fitness, not only am I well versed in fitness, but I also understand how diet and exercise chemically affects our bodies and over-all health.  I design my workouts based on your individual needs.  No matter if you are a high school athlete who is preparing to play a sport in college, or if you are just looking to drop some unwanted weight, I can help you.  My workouts are intense and fast paced so that you get the greatest metabolic benefit.  I like to mix in strength training, plyometrics, and cardio so that you feel as if you truly got your money’s worth out of each workout.  If you want a fun, highly energized workout, feel free to request me as your trainer.

What Our
Customers' Say

"I worked with a trainer (Sherry) from Schrink Personal Training for 6 months. During that time I lost 60 pounds, dropping from 283 lbs down to 223. My body fat percentage decreased by 10%, and my BMI also went down 10%. I learned how and when to properly exercise, and how and when to properly eat.

With Sherry's help I learned to monitor my diet and ensure I was eating the right foods at the right time in the right amounts. I started walking/jogging, and at first I couldn't run 100 feet without becoming breathless. Since then I have completed a 5K, an 8K and a 10K, and will be participating in longer distances in the future."
